"A prime example of why it's important to be prepared in the field --- Today while marking an area at a well-known pharmaceutical plant, my site contact informed me that they had to halt excavation in another area because they uncovered an unknown concrete pad. They didn't know if it was some kind of vault or a duct bank. He asked me if I happen to have a concrete scanner with me, and I did, all charged up and ready to go. I scanned the pad with my GP8000, performed strategic induction and passive scans, and determined there were no utilities running through the pad.
