What's the problem?

Are you observing pipe deterioration caused by years of usage, increased line stress, or accidental strikes? Repair defective isolated sections of pipe!

A clean sewer or sanitary line makes it easier to adhere tothe repair lining. A field employee on the pipe repair team will execute the service of jetting. A blast of water at high pressure is sent into the line to remove:

  • Blockages
  • Build Up
  • Grease

If the pipe is located within a highly trafficked area, traffic control services will be provided by Trinity Subsurface, LLC in tandem with the pipe repair.

A robotic crawler traverses the cleaned sewage/storm pipe to determine where the pipelining will be placed. VPI is an efficient way to find  pinpoint and mark pipe defects including:

  • Cracks
  • Corrosion
  • Infiltration

Field employees code observations right on the control interface of the crawler. The allows the repair team to determine the exact amount of materials needed for the new pipelining.

The pipe repair materials used include polypropylene lining, felt, and fiberglass. All materials are wrapped around the packer, a tool that is tube-shaped and inflatable.

A two-part epoxy is mixed and a generous coat is applied to the wrapped materials. Yarn and zip ties are tightened around the wetted-out lining to keep it in place until the packer is fully inflated.

The packer is positioned where the lining materials surround the pipe section with observed defects. Once in the desired location, the packer is inflated.

The inflatable packer allows a 2 1/2 inch flow through for sewer system while the liner is inserted. This allows for the continued use of the system.

The curing process of the pipe lining takes between 3 and 4 hours. The packer remains inflated at a specific pressure for its duration.

Once the epoxy dries and the packer is removed, a water-tight and permanent seal is created. This restores the pipe to its original integrity. The pipe is flushed and televised a second time to confirm liner effectiveness.

Do you need to excavate for sectional point repair?

No, sectional point repair is a trenchless solution to fixing damaged pipes. There is no digging necessary as the pipe is repaired from the inside out with an interior lining. It restores structural integrity by sealing joints, cracks, or missing pipe sections and eliminates root intrusion.

Is sectional point repair expensive?

Sectional point repair is the most cost-effective solution for municipalities and commercial facilities with isolated sewer line problems. Not only does sectional point repair prevent costly and unnecessary repairs, but it can also be completed as quickly as one day. It is no longer necessary to reline a pipe from manhole to manhole in order to address one section of pipe. Now we can simply reline the area in need of repair.

How long will a point repair job hold?

The point repair forms a structural, permanent waterproof repair that seals all types of pipe against infiltration and ex-filtration. The finished repair is stronger than the original pipe. This repair has a superior bond to the existing pipe equally in wet or dry conditions and because of the lining material, there is no shrinkage and therefore no space between the pipe and repair that could cause leakage. The repair system can be used equally well in warm or cold climates.
